8th of August - Life begins after sunset

'Everything you do, give it 100%. Or don't do it' (Yiannis)

It is Monday now, the fourth day on the island. In this heat, the days go by being inside all the curtains closed to block any kind of daylight. As soon as the sun sets, the life starts to find it's ways out of the houses. On Saturday evening we sat on the grass of Acropolis park drinking wine (which they sell illegally at the kiosks)
Me: 'Shouldn't we get some cups as well?' awkward silence...'Or we will drink right from the bottle?'

Yiannis: 'Of course we will,' and a little later, 'I can't believe you even asked'

So we were sitting on the grass, handing each other the wine bottle and sketching to my notebook together. What surrounded us was unreal for me. Moms and dads with little kids, gangs of teenagers, guys like us, middleaged fellahs, oldies, musicians etc. Everybody was there and at the same time it was extremely dark. The kind of darkness one never experiences during summertime in Estonia. Why aren't all those people in bed sleeping or watching TV at home? You know, like normal people. Still can't adjust myself to the mode where life begins after sunset.

With no doubt, you have to take the most out of the nighttime. So we left the active park and went downtown. Is is normal to drive when you have been drinking? Sure, if you drive on the wrong side of the road anyways (when will I stop trying to sit on the driver's seat?) We met with some of Yiannis' friends at one of the plentiful bars. They asked 5 euros for 4cl of ouzo and that gave us a lot to discuss about. Cause they served it in long coctail-glass. And you drive back home being even more drunk.

On Sunday we woke up around 3pm and started to drive to Limassol immediately. We went to a beachparty at Guaba where DJs Gabriel and Dresden amused people with ...music. The party started around 2pm and ended supposedly around 9pm. Imagine this: you're at home, put on bikinis or swimsuit and maybe even a shirt and go to a club. A lot of sweaty halfnaked women and even more even sweatier and 'nakeder' men. This too I categorized as unreal.
